So Soon?

Yesterday afternoon Ryan and I met with our adoption clinician. We turned in our books, birth mother letter and questionnaire. She absolutely loved our books and mentioned that we went above and beyond what what expected. She even asked if it would be OK for her to keep one to show future adoptive parents what a great book looks like. I am very happy with the way be books turned out but also glad they are finished. I scanned a copy of each page so I don't have to worry too much about getting a copy back. If anyone would like to see it I have loaded the pages in to snapfish.com so I can email you the link.

Next our clinician told us about a birth mother that she thinks we are a perfect match for. As we talked to our clinician about this birth mother my eyes are starting to water up. Tears of excitement and tears of sadness. The birth mother is young and I mean really young.... 13 actually. It is really a sad story on why she is pregnant so young. From what we were told she is being very strong and mature about this situation. She is 5'10, has blond hair and is slender. She enjoys all of the same things we do and even mentioned that she wants someone who rides dirt bikes and does arts and crafts. There were several other requirements/wishes and we met all of them except the location we live. She was hoping for a family that lived in the Albany area but since we are a perfect match for the rest I think we have a great chance. The part that really took our breath away is that she is due November 8, 2007 which is only a month away. Her adoption clinician is sending her our book overnight to her today. There are also two other birth mothers that are a pretty good match for us. One is due December 8, 2007 and the other is January 25, 2008. At this point we feel we are a better match for the birth mother that is due in November but are keeping our options open. My cell phone will be with me everywhere I go from now on! Ryan and I are very excited right now if you can not tell. We want to thank all of our friends and family for your prayers, love and support as we go through our adoption process. Thank You!!!

After we left our adoption agency we went to the Pita Pit for lunch which is in Portland on 10th street. Their pitas are really really good. We have been craving them since we first ate at the Pita Pit in Corvallis. I am glad that we stumbled across this healthy place to eat!
