Yesterday after lunch our clinician called me wanting to schedule another interview. This was a little surprising to me since I had just met with her on Tuesday. She told me that she had not asked all of her questions she needed to know about my childhood. She wanted to schedule an interview for Monday and push out our next visit a week or so she would have time to write up her report. I offered to meet with her last night if that would be easier and give her enough time to write up her report before our next visit. She was very thankful that I was so willing to meet with her with such short notice and agreed it would be easier for her. So right after work I headed in rush hour traffic to our adoption agency. We spent about an hour together and I think that she has all of the information she needs now. She also recommended some Love and Logic parenting classes that are offered in our area. She recommends these classes to every couple she works with and thinks that we would benefit from them. She will give us the information the next time we see her.
We have our next visit scheduled for 9/25 at our house. This should be the last home study visit. She will ask any questions that she needs to finish up her report and look around our house to make sure it is a safe environment to raise a child. That should complete the last of the paperwork part for a while. Meanwhile Ryan and I are going to work on the adoption books and our letter to the birth mother.

What do they do in the parenting classes the agency reccomended? I'd be interested because I think I've heard of Love & Logic down here in San Diego.
Are you sending the birth mother a postal letter directly to her or does the agency act as the middleman?
I do not have all of the information on the Love and Logic classes yet. Our clinician will get that to us next week. From my understanding the classes teach the parents techniques to help your child make the right decisions from an early age so that when they are older is comes natural to make the right decisions. I am sure that there are Love and Logic classes in San Diego they are pretty popular.
As far as the letter that we have to write the adoption ageny shows our adoption book to birth mothers and our letter is a part of our book. We have not even started on that yet. I am going to try find out a little more of what needs to be in the letter.
