No More Milk

Several weeks ago we took Landon see a naturopath about his tummy pains. Landon almost immediately felt comfortable around Dr. Zabell which is not normally the case with our shy guy. After exchanging information for about an hour Landon had his first food allergy test. It was just a tiny prick on his big toe and a few drops of blood. Landon did not even cry or notice he could not move his foot.
We got the results two weeks later and discovered Landon is extremely allergic to milk and that sure explains a lot. Dr. Zabell said that he had never seen someone so little with these kind of milk allergies. It seems as though Landon can't handle even small amounts of milk, so when he has more than what his body can tolerate he gets sharp cramps in his tummy. I am glad to know that Landon's tummy pains were not all in my head but at the same time sad to see him with a food allergy. We noticed a difference is his moods almost immediately after we switched him to goats milk. He started waking up happy and not fighting bed times. He is rarely cranky these days and overall seems to be feeling great.
Friday Landon had another blood draw to have some more allergy tests done. These tests should show if he is allergic to the milk proteins or lactose. The results should be in the next week or so and should help us understand more about Landon's food allergies. We live only a few miles from a Trader Joes, New Seasons and a Whole Foods so finding food and snacks Landon can has been pretty easy.
